I want to make our older Snugride car seat more comfortable for our 1-month newborn. After seeing these for sale on ebay I’m wondering if you can just insert them into any Snugride car seat.
Although ours is equipped with the standard head foam, I don’t think it ever came with the full sized one that covers the whole seat.

Have you had this seat inspected? After 4 years, it is possible that your car seat no longer meets current safety standards. The plastics also break down over time…most seats have an "expiration date" on them. Take the seat to the fire department and have it inspected. Also check the manual for other information. If it still meets with inspectors approval, just call the company and ask them which models of inserts will fit it.

I want something like this:

http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=346756&parentCategoryId=85193&categoryId=85251&subCategoryId=86245#tabs

But something that will fit in the back seat of my Honda Civic. I either find things that are made for vans/suv’s or thing that don’t have holes for the seatbelts…so I basically want something like the link but smaller for a car. Thanks!

burlingtoncoatfactory.com might have something in the baby depot, or have you tried target? i think burlington has something small to go just behing and on the seat where the carset is.. sorry if you dont live near a burlington, i dont think they ship. otherwise, try target.com, or even amazon.com

I flipped my 2001 dodge neon into a swampy ditch and the seats and carpeting, headliner, etc. were all covered with water and silt. I have removed everything from the car (seats, carpet, headliner, trunk carpet, all trim) and I was wondering what would be a good way to get the smell and stains out of the seats. Also, I know that professional water damage repair shops use a disinfecting steam on the interior after it is stripped and I was wondering if there is any way to do something like that at home? Thanks for your help!

Brian, there is a simple solution for your problem. First, get some CALGON water softiner, its a powder, get some VIVID bleach, this will clean out any discoloration from the water, with out fading the fabric. Mix the two together. Put 2 cups of VIVId, in to a pale of WARM water, and a 1/2 cup of CALGON. mix it together, take a small fingernail brush ,and LIITELY scrubb the fabric. You will notice that the CALGON has a nice fresh scent. Rinse the fabric off with a clean dry cloth, dampped in warm water, and let AIR dry.
To get any other oders out, Place a bowel of applecider viniger, in the car, and let it set for a few days. When you reinstall the rugs, GET some pipe tobacco, lay it out on a cooky sheet, over night, and sprinkle it on top of the metal floor boards, and then lay down your new rugs, and all the orders should be gone in no time at all. In the collison body shops, they use these the products all the time. GOOD LUCK SON!!!!

I HAVE AN R REG TOYOTA STARLET, IT IS RED AND HAS RED SPORTS SEAT COVERS AND SEAT BELT STRAP. IT ALSO HAS MOT FOR ANOTHER 6 MONTHS AND TAX TIL JANUARY, 80,000 MILEAGE HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK I CAN GET FOR IT BECUASE I WANT TO UPGRADE TO A VAXHALL ASTRA

You should have a look at parkers used car guide or glasses
used car guide. These are small books which tell you the value
of most vehicles. They can be bought at most newsagents.
You could also try an internet search for your car to find out
how much its worth.

My personal opinion on what your car might be worth is around
£500.00 maximum. This is due to its age and mileage.

Drivers side seat has ripped! Should I replace the seat, or just buy some seat covers? They are vinyl seats. There are some other cosmetic repairs that need to be done, (New soft top, dent above windshield, re-paint fenders, tire cover, etc.) It is a 2000, less then 99,000 miles (mostly highway miles), I am the only owner, and never have had any problems with it. It’s yellow, black top, half doors, air, CD player, sound bar, 4cyl, tires are pretty new. I hardly ever drive it, I work with my husband so we always drive his car. How would this effect the trade-in value? (I would say it is in "Fair" condition at worst.) Or would I be putting more money into it than I should? Would I be losing money?

if you don’t intend to do any of the other repairs…replacing the seat wouldn’t make any difference…you could probably contact an upholstery shop and they could repair the rip and not have to replace the seat….if your gonna do all the other repairs it would make sense to repair this too as to get the best dollar for it…..I’d bet you could list it on craigs list or ebay and get a pretty good $$ for it….

I am trying to find out which car manufacturers from the following list offer free breakdown cover as part of the showroom deal. This can either be arranged by the dealer themselves or be part of the insurance package they give-away (if any!). Please see the list of manufacturers below I am interested in:

Nissan
Mazda
Mitsubishi
BMW
Rover/MG
Audi
Mercedes
Landrover
Kia
Citroen
Vauxhall
Ford
Peugeot
Chrysler
Chevrolet
Dodge
Toyota
Fiat
Honda
Alfa Romeo
Hyundai
Jeep
Mini
Volkswagon
Seat
Lexus
Renault
Jaguar
Skodo
Smart
Subaru
Suzuki
Volvo

If so, which roadside assitance company do each manufacturers use? Maybe if we can get someone who has bought a car from each manufacturer brand new, we can formulate a list between us!

Thankyou for any help you can provide.

J G – Most, if not all of the dealer websites do not mention breakdown cover. The websites mostly advertise their finance options and real cash savings as opposed to smaller perks like breakdown cover. Thankyou for your input, you have been very ‘helpful’
I have given a call to each of these car manufacturers and they all offer free brakdown cover, generally for the first 3 years of ownership for a brand new car or 1 year for an approved used car. I have also found out which companies they use as well so thankyou all for your input

I thought they all gave free breakdown cover.
Had a new Peugeot and they did for 3 years
If they didnt and the car broke down the other end of the country from where you bought it they would be liable for picking it up and getting it fixed. So it is easier for them to do a deal with the RAC or AA and include it in the purchase price

I tried several times to do that with another model. there is no luck. Even by going to their website evenflo.com you will not be able to buy one. I dont know y but its either use what you got or buy a new set. When I looked I looked everywhere and called everyone. All kids stores like babysrus toysrus, walmart, the 800 # and nothing. I was ready to stitch my own when I finally decided there is no hope. So I sold it and bought a new one.
