"I am interested in securing a position with (insert company) in the field of CAD. To demonstrate my commitmtny, I am willing to work for a two month period at no cost.

I AM CONFIDENT THAT ANY COMPANY REVIEWING YOUR RESUME WILL BE AWARE OF THE MARKET PROBLEMS. DO NOT REMIND THEM OR PLACE A NEGATIVE SPIN ON YOUR COMMUNICATION EITHER IN THE COVER OR AN INTERVIEW.

Words such as keen or boost tend to be a turn off for HR directors and indicat that you may have a problem affectively communicating.. However I am still keen to bring my academic knowledge into the workplace.

I graduated with a BSc Hons from Birmingham City University. My degree is in Computer Aided Automotive Design. My final year project was my successfull design of a Formula One type bodykit for a small single seated racing car. This project has provided confidence in both CAD and CATIA V5 applications

I am an individual who is strongly committed to the belief that quality must lie at the root of everything I do.

I am honest, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable. I am boyh a quick learner and a highly motivated individual. Perhaps one of my best abilities is that I thrive under pressure and remain calm and productive when facing thight budgets or deadlines.I am equally comfortable working within a team or as an individual. I am hardworking and have the ability to prioritize workloads on a daily basis.

I welcome your inquiries with my previous employers. I am confident that each willl assure you that I have a confident nature that is coupled with my excellent communication and co-operative skills.

I would respect and look forward to any opportunity to meet with you and discuss ways I may be of benefit to your company.

Thank you for your time and I eagerly anticipate your reply.

PLEASE NOTE: In addition to this email I am attaching a copy of my CV for your review."

Remember that HR directors are generally very busy and often multi task twom or more different positions in smaller companies. The value their time and will often not review long letters or CV's. Get to the point. Also be aware that it would present a specific liability for a company to hire you without salary or wages. In some areas an intern agreement can be executed to resolve this issue.

Not bad, but forget mentioning the current recession...it is quite obvious why things are tough today. You should futher emphasize your design abilities, by briefly describing how your bodykit performed, on the track, or skidpad. Dont say you are willing to work for free- but inquire if the employer has any internship programs in place.

Include that you are innovative, and able to solve difficult design issues. This is a plus. Many automotive design studios find a creative, and visionary CAD architect will be the best asset. My brother's in-laws were former GM architects, and they are hungry for new, bright talent. Include some renderings, too. Your chances of getting that first interview will soar.
