OK, I drove my wife to work this morning so I could use her truck. She didn’t know it but me and my pal Rusty went deer hunting today. It’s not exactly deer season but we know where a bunch of deer live by the river where we fish so we just drove on out there and sure enough there was a big old doe there eating grass by the boat launch so Rusty takes out his 30.06 and drops her like a bag of hammers! We were celebrating with a few beers when we got to thinking what if a game warden is waiting to check out truck when we leave? So instead of putting the deer in the bed of the truck we just stuffed her on the floor in the back seat (its a big 2008 Dodge crew cab truck). Then we just covered her all up with our coats and stuff and drove on home. Well, when we get to Rusty’s house and pull out the deer we see that it bled all over the back seat and carpet. Like gallons of it. Now what do I do? I tried washing it out with Dawn and a garden hose but the floor was filling up with water. So I grabbed a big hole-punch and a hammer and knocked a bunch of holes in the floor so the bloody water would drain out. Now its soaking wet and smelly and all stained with blood. One of her friends dropped her off after work so she ain’t seen the truck yet. She’s normally pretty laid back cause she knows how I am and all but she’s nuts about her truck. Do you think she’ll go postal when she finds out? Should I just spend the night at Rusty’s tonight?

I hope there aren’t any bears where you live, cause you’re sleeping in the truck tonight!

Why on earth didn’t you bleed the thing before you put her in the truck? Even I know to do that!

Ok, i got a 93 dodge caravan, and when ever u take the rear seats out, theres spots where you hook the seats to the floor. theres caps to cover them up, but i only have one. and i dont know what there called so i can order more.

Does anyone know??
i know there caps, but what kind of caps, like floor caps, or seat hatch caps???/
SEAT BRACKETS!!!!!!

I FOUND EM!

calling the dealership and asking what it is will be your best bet. Try to be specific when talking to whomever. I doubt they will still have that part so look on ebay or write a parts request form online to all junkyards in your state. if one has it, they will send it to the closest junkyard near you.

What it is is about 3/4 of a chocolate malt spilled on the carpet next to the cup holder. It is hard now but could probably be scraped up a little. What can I use to remove it? Boiling water? A certain car cleaning product? Something else? There is also some in the cup holder so any advice for that would be helpful. It is a 1997 Dodge Neon.

(If you are wondering why I left it for so long it’s because it spilled in a car accident, and the car was taken away and I had no chance to get to it until it was repaired (now) and the night of the accident I couldn’t get to it because there was shattered glass covering the seats and floor and I was kind of busy with the police and accident report and stuff, just so you guys don’t think I’m lazy and just left it there for two months.)

Any advice would really help! Thanks!

Believe me I have had more than my share of spills and stains in my truck so what I would do would be …

1. Scrape what you can up
2. Spray some hairspray from a aerosol can onto it and blot what you can up with a towel.
3. Mix 1 cup of lemon juice with some boiling water and pour over it and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
4. Finally rub with a towel.

This trick as gotten MANY stains out of my carpet in my house and truck!

Good Luck!

I was sitting at a red light yesterday and a pickup truck that didn’t even try to stop hit me at 55mph. My trunk was pushed all the way into my back seat and they said it wasn’t safe to drive. He has assumed full liability and his insurance company is completely covering it.

They are paying for our rental car now and we are waiting to hear what the estimate for the repairs is. I am worried because my car, 2004 Dodge Stratus SE is about $7,000 blue book but is right now selling at about $9000 because of good gas mileage. If the car insurance totals the car out and pays blue book, I won’t even be able to get equivalent car.

Is the amount the insurance company wants to cut the check for negotiable? Or am I just screwed and this dillweed gets to ruin my life?

The amount the insurance company offers is negotiable but not by much. You would have to convince them perhaps with written appraisals from experts that your car is worth more than they are offering. Perhaps a better idea is to use your own insurance company. You would pay your collision deductible (if any) They will repair or total your car, go after the other driver and their insurance company and when they collect, your deductible will be returned to you. Often your own insurance company will treat you better than the other insurance company

yup, so like i said. i have a 2003 dodge neon sxt. lame, right? but anyways, its gotta 2.0 liter SOHC 16-valve 4 cylinder engine, auto, with an 1800 watt amp and 2 12" 100 watt subs in a box that barely fits in my trunk lol. its not much.i wanna add some balls.

i’ve been looking around online and i found out some good turbos, upgrades, exhausts, and some body kits and rims.

haven’t found much on interior. i wanna see if i can get some cheap srt4 seats or just covers, possibly new shifter, deck, possibly steering wheel.

basically, i wanna lot done to it, but i don’t really wanna do too much. it is my first car, after all. lol

also, what about some stuff i can find in a junkyard?

take it to an upholstery shop and have the seats custom did on it,that will make it different than most other cars, there’s plenty of parts available for that one,its your car ,you decide on what is to much and don’t worry about what other people think about it,the first car is always the one you remember the most, good luck.

I have a ‘97 Dodge stratus thats in really good condition. The inside is really nice the only problem is that the speakers in the back seat are completely covered. Is there anyways I can cut threw the carpet and such and just buy the screen/cover part where the music comes out. They’re good speakers but you cant hear them that well since they’re covered. Also I wouldn’t be doing this my brother would be, just figured I’d get peoples opinions since he just wants me to replace the whole thing. Help?

The carpet shouldn’t be effecting the sound. Check your fade setting. An independent stereo shop would help.

I’m nearing 18 years, and I am able to get my own car pretty soon. I’ll say this right now that I realize I am extremely fortunate to have the option of getting a nice car as my first, specifically, I am able to get a car for about $15-20k. I also realize there are other costs to worry about like repairs, maintenance, insurance, and gas, but my own job can easily cover those expenses.

Here are my choices, and feel free to recommend your own, but please don’t suggest any Japanese cars or Fords (e.g.: Ford Focuses, ughh I can’t stand those)

I’m looking for a car that’s safe, luxurious, roomy, not too much power, and it looks sharp, giving a level of prestige. I only plan to drive myself and a friend on average, but if the occasion calls for it, I would like to comfortably seat people in the back.

-2001 BMW 330ci
-2000-2 BMW 5 series
-2005 Ford Mustang V6
-2005 Dodge Charger V6
-2003 Infiniti G35 coupe
Thanks for your advice, but I realized that cars do depreciate over time. But I might as well get a car that holds it’s value over the years, unlike a Mustang or something.

By the way, the MINI seems just too small for me. And don’t girls usually drive those cars?
The only car I like from Nissan is the 350Z, but I can imagine the insurance would be staggering for it as well.

As for Toyotas, they’re too many on the road, and I don’t want to blend in with everyone else.

And I find Chevy’s designs for most of their cars to just be plain ugly.

The beemers will cost you plenty if something breaks on it. At 18, the insurance on a ’stang will be breathtaking. Same for the charger. I don’t know about the Infiniti, they are so overrated. I would take a hard look at the insurance rates for any of them; that is going to be your biggest cost. See what it would cost to drive a pickup. Chevy, Toyata, and Nissan make them if you hate Fords.

Its a 1998 Dodge Neon Sport. It’s a sedan and the exterior is "forest green pearl" which is dark green.
(example- http://img.neons.org/archives/1GPaintCodes/forestgreen.jpg)

I’m looking to buy new seat covers, floor mats, and other accessories for the interior. There is a set of blue and black covers that I want, but I’m afraid it might clash too much with the exterior.

Can anyone confirm this or please give me some ideas on what colors i should look for? I’m looking for something with color, not just black.

Thanks!

Matching colors should always be done with your interior. If its a grey, I personally don’t think Black and Blue covers would look bad. Below is a link to our Dodge page. Check out the 3rd row, 1st picture.

That is a black and blue in a grey interior. Doesn’t look bad. If your interior is a tan, then I’d think about a different scheme as tan and blue don’t go together very well.

Hope this helps. Any other questions, email us through our website.

Im thinking about buying a 94 Mirage sedan with 123k miles. It has the 1.8l 4 cyl. with automatic transmision. Is this a good car reliability wise?

My aunt previously owned a 93 Dodge Colt sedan. Exact same car and engine. She only owned it a month before my uncle blew it up so that why im asking about reliability. Hers had 170k miles and was still running great. It got about 40 mpg and i really like the design of the car. She didnt drive her car hard so I dont know how fast 0-60 acceleration is,but when passing a car she would be going 90+ with out even knowing it.

The Mirage im looking at is $900, im gonna try to get the guy down to $800. The front seats needs seat covers and thats about it. It does need a muffler but I can get that from my aunts colt, heck I could probably buy the whole thing for $50 and use it for parts.
I just talked to the guy and told him how much ive seen the prices of 2001 with 60k miles. He immediately dropped the price to $600.

Im not concerned that this vehicle has high millage well its not high in my books.

The car I currently drive is an ‘88 dodge caravan with a mitsubishi engine and it has 387,092 miles as of now and still going. I payed $20 for it and its lasted me over 3,000 miles. Never ever expected it to.

A 94 Mirage for 900$ it better be in good shape i would say 500$ take it or leave it i had a 98 Mirage for a few years and it was a good car that did not let me down on some long trips

The new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 boasts more of what performance aficionados crave: kick-in-the-pants, throw-back-in-the-seat power, combined with benchmark braking, world-class ride and handling, a race-inspired interior and bold exterior styling.

While every SRT vehicle offers balanced, overall performance, the heart and soul of the new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 is its standout powertrain. For 2008, SRT ups the ante with a new, 8.4-liter aluminum V-10 engine that produces an astounding 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque.

“A legendary big-game hunter once said, ‘Bring enough gun!’ – and with the new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10, we’ve created some very powerful artillery for sports-car enthusiasts,” said Kipp Owen, Director – Street and Racing Technology (SRT) Engineering, Chrysler Group. “With 600 horsepower – 90 more than before – and 0-to-60 performance in less than four seconds, the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 sets a new benchmark for the ultimate American sports car.”

The new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 will arrive in Dodge showrooms in North America this summer with a new level of customization options, including five new exterior colors, four new interior color combinations and a new wheel design.

Standout Powertrain

When SRT powertrain engineers set out to get more venom from the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10’s powerplant, their objectives included not only increasing performance, but also complying with stringent regulatory requirements, such as federal Tier 2, Bin 5 and California’s Low Emissions Vehicle (LEV) 2 mandates.
Working with specialists from McLaren Performance Technologies and Ricardo, Inc., SRT engineers began by following the racer’s basic formula for more power: bigger displacement, more efficient breathing and higher engine speed.
The new Dodge Viper SRT10’s deep-skirted V-10 aluminum engine block was revised for a 1-millimeter larger bore, raising the displacement to 8.4 liters from 8.3 liters. With strengthened bulkheads and improved water jackets for better cooling, the block includes pressed-in iron cylinder liners and cross-bolted main bearing caps for strength and durability.
The Viper SRT10’s 8.4-liter engine breathes through new cylinder heads equipped with Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC)-shaped combustion chambers, larger valves and Variable Valve Timing (VVT). VVT electronically adjusts when the exhaust valves are open and closed according to engine speed and load, allowing the engine to “breathe” cleaner and more efficiently. The 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 V-10’s two-piece intake manifold combines a cast aluminum lower with smooth runners for better air flow, bolted to a die-cast aluminum upper plenum. A revised air-cleaner box with a low-restriction filter sends air through a dual electronic throttle control into the intake module.
The air-fuel mixture in the cylinders is ignited by platinum-tip spark plugs fired by new individual plug coils mounted on the cylinder-head covers.
Within the cylinders, pistons are equipped with larger-diameter floating pins with bronze bushings for high-load capability. Forged powder-metal connecting rods are secured with aircraft-quality fasteners for increased fatigue strength.
Engine lubrication is managed by a larger oil pump and a swinging oil pickup adapted from Viper competition engines, to improve oil pressure in high-rpm and hard-cornering conditions.
